In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

As part of the System Development team, you will contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of advanced microscopy systems, ensuring seamless integration of all components and reliable overall system performance.
Your responsibilities include the conception, development, and enhancement of our core technologies (e.g., acousto-optics, detection modules, lasers, and scanning technologies).
Contribution to the development of the overall architecture of future confocal microscopy platforms in close collaboration with our teams. Ensuring that qualitative, economic, and technical requirements are met.
Part of your role is to monitor market trends and scientific developments to identify new and relevant technologies. By building and characterizing laboratory prototypes, you will evaluate promising new technologies and concepts.
Help safeguard our competitive edge by actively collaborating with the IP department to protect our innovations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

You hold a degree in physics, engineering, or another relevant discipline, ideally with a Ph.D. or initial experience in project work and industrial research and development.

Basic knowledge of confocal microscopy core technologies (acousto‑optics, detectors, lasers, scanning modules) is required. Experience with advanced techniques such as STED or multiphoton microscopy is an advantage.

You work independently in a structured manner when analyzing and solving problems.
You have experience in project and team collaboration within interdisciplinary and intercultural environments and possess an understanding of economic relationships and dependencies.
You are a motivated and open-minded individual with a strong desire to learn and grow. You have fluent command of English and, ideally, German, and can apply these skills effectively.
